I’m back this week with my answers to Taking On A World Of Words‘s three W questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
CURRENTLY READING
Front Desk by Kelly Yang — 64%
Pride by Ibi Zoboi — 27%
RECENTLY READ
The Disordered Mind by Eric R. Kandel |DNF
The first chapter didn’t teach me anything new so I decided to jump ahead and check out the gender and sexuality section (already not liking that this was included in a book about disorders…). After the author misgendered Caitlyn Jenner a bunch of times I was done.
The Leavers by Lisa Ko | ★★★★★
I keep changing my between four and five stars, but I think I’ll keep it at five. I had some problems here and there, but I cared about the charcters enough that I didn’t mind.
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston| ★★★★★
I was also debating what rating I should give this one… I need to chill and give out five starts without doubting myself.
As a romance this book is strong, but it wins at its bi rep and portrayal of what it’s like to debate coming out when you have so much to lose.
We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix | ★★★★☆
I didn’t love this one from the start, but the last quarter was killer. Towards the end I had to stop reading because I had to go to work and I almost went to hide in the bathroom to finish the chapter. I loved the inclusion of the song lyrics and this is coming from someone who usually skim reads those.
WHAT’S NEXT
The Fantasy Adventurathon is starting on Monday so I will be posting a separate TBR for that. Until then I would like to read these two books:
Darius the Great is Not Okay by Adib Khorram
99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne
LIFE
Monday was the beginning of the registration period for new students at uni. It’s so early, I know; at my first uni it was in June! I signed up for three classes for my major and a sign language class. There are way less online LSQ ressources than for ASL so I’m glad that class is available.
The Leavers sounds intriguing. Always fun to have a book, where figuring out your star ranting is difficult. Great list of books! Have a great reading week! Here’s my WWW if interested: https://greatmorrisonmigration.wordpress.com/2019/03/20/www-wednesdays-march-20-2019/

Hope you enjoy front desk! I’ve heard good things about it from a lot of people :)) Red, white & royal blue!! I’m highly anticipating reading it because everyone is rating it so highly. Other than that, Darius the great is not okay is also on my TBR, and I’m so interested to read it because it represents a culture I know next to nothing about plus it sounds like the perfect read that’ll make me cry (but in a good way).
You’re gonna kill it in uni, I promise💖xx

Thank you for the encouragement! I started Darius last night and it’s giving me a lot of feelings. I’m reading it on the bus so stoicism is key but tears might be coming.
